The majority of our lives are spent coping with the hard realities of this Dunya. We struggle to support ourselves and our families, stay healthy, push back against evil, or process the day to day challenges. But this constant entanglement in the material slowly rids the mind the vast possibilities of what lies beyond the perception of man.
This Ramadan, the Tarbiya imams will take our community on an incredible journey to examine and explore the events, happenings and occurrences beyond death, expanding our horizons, stretching the limits of our imagination, and connecting us with the ultimate inevitability.
This year, as we select mentorship, or Tarbiya, as our theme, we emphasize the necessity of priming the hearts with the scenes and visions of the events of the afterlife, hoping to enrich and nurture our community members in their pursuit of spiritual growth and nearness to Allah (SWT).
"It was narrated by Tabarani from Ibn-Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that a man from the Ansar said to the Messenger (PBUH): 'O Messenger of Allah, who are the most intelligent and most noble of people?' The Prophet said:
'Those who remember death the most and are best prepared for it, they are the most intelligent, and they have gained the honor of this world and the nobility of the Hereafter.'"
May Allah make us among them.
Ramadan Mubarak!
