Build for Unity

January 19th, 2016

Tarbiya Institute is joining hands with Muslim and Interfaith groups around the Sacramento area to do something amazing in response to the recent rise in Islamophobia. Under the banner of “Build for Unity” and the leadership of Habitat for Humanity, we are embarking on a mission to build two houses for families in need of a home. One house will be built by the interfaith community for a Muslim family and one house will be built by the Muslim community for a non-Muslim family. Yesterday evening, Imam Azeez and Congresswoman Doris Matsui were keynote speakers at the kickoff event. Ustadh Kamran delivered a melodic rendering of the Islamic call to prayer. Now we need to raise $75,000 from the Muslims of Sacramento to get our build started!
