On Nov. 16th, Muslims from around the Sacramento Valley will be coming together for our 5th annual celebration of the life and legacy of Prophet Muhammad (saw). Every year we do our best to accommodate families from all walks of life and this year there are many new refugees in the area that we would like to accommodate at the event. In previous years we’ve had over 700 Muslims gathered for this beautiful and spiritual evening and our refugee brothers and sisters should be there as well. To do this we need your help!
Our Goal is modest. We are looking to invite 20 refugees (that is $720) but we will invite more if we exceed our goal.
The sad reality is that our brothers and sisters who come as refugees are being targeted by evangelical churches who promise them assistance but ask them to trade away their faith and accept their evangelizing in order to receive that help. If we do not provide those families with opportunities to celebrate and learn their own faith, then we are abandoning them in their time of greatest need. With your help, The Sacramento Grand Mawlid can be one of those opportunities.
