With the rise in the numbers of Muslim students across college campuses in the western world, the relative lack of religious guidance provided for those students, the severe disconnect from religious institutions, and the increasing visibility of atheist groups on campus, Muslim students face a historic challenge to their faith and identity. Stories of young Muslims renouncing their faith have become commonplace.
What is driving this wave of atheism? What factors shake the essence of our faith? What foundational knowledge must be present in order for us as a community to fend off this trend? What can parents do to work with their kids when they struggle with a faith crisis?
Join us on December 16th at The Falls in Elk Grove for a community dialogue led by Imam Azeez of the Tarbiya Institute to get some of these questions answered.
